The nCenter has an in-house Registered Dietitian that provides nutrition counseling in Bozeman to educate and support clients with a variety of nutrition related health concerns.

What is Nutrition and Nutrition Counseling?

Nutrition is defined here as “the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism. It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism and excretion”.

Basically, it is the study of the foods we take in and how the food is utilized for our body, our health and overall well-being.

Why Nutrition Counseling?

Nutritional imbalances are a leading cause of the obesity epidemic exploding throughout many countries of the world today. Eating the wrong quantities of foods, or the wrong foods, is an easy trap to fall into. There are many cheap choices of the wrong foods and the lack of understanding of what the body needs (and what it needs to avoid). Busy people may rely on junk food, fast food, and easy-to-prepare processed products to help them keep up with their crazy schedule. Sadly doing this fails when the foods they’re eating harm their health, productivity and wellness.

Obesity, being overweight and a raised BMI (Body Mass Index) is a major risk factor for diseases such as:

  • Heart disease and stroke, which were the leading cause of death in 2017
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Joint pain and joint damage from excess weight bearing
  • Some cancers (including endometrial, breast, ovarian, prostate, liver, gallbladder, kidney, and colon)
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Food allergies
  • Digestive disorders including Irritable Bowel Syndrome

The more you eat highly-processed foods, the more likely you are to gain weight and the more challenging it becomes to lose those extra pounds.

There is a science behind healthy eating patterns and we can help you!

Bozeman Nutrition Counseling Appointments

Each client receives care designed to address his or her unique situation. While we find that planning for a minimum of three sessions works well for many clients, all client plans and appointments needs are determined on an individual basis.

At your first appointment we will discuss:

  • Your priorities and goals
  • Any food preferences/allergies/sensitivities
  • Living and work environments
  • Current medical and health concerns
  • Physical activity
  • Things that may play a role in influencing your food choices

At the end of your consultation, you will leave with recommendations and information designed to focus on what is important to you.
Appointments can be made for in-person at the nCenter or via video chat.
We accept most private insurance plans. If the dietitian is not a provider with your insurance company, a super bill can be provided for you to file for potential reimbursement
